PDQ Technical Services Coordinator
Position Overview
The Technical Services Coordinator oversees all technical aspects of priMED’s products including (preliminary) technical feasibility, material selection, design solutioning, and manufacturing/process development etc. This role involves interacting with design control, validation and specification management. The Technical Services Coordinator is involved in the company IP including patent protectionand also works with the quality department to ensure that the programs are in compliance with regulatory requirements of ISO13485/QSR etc.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conducts technical reviews of products related to: raw materials, final product construction, manufacturing processes.
- Provides direction to the China based sourcing team with regard to raw material and supplier and contractor qualification.
- Maintains up-to-date technical standards for priMED’s products.
- Maintains the company patent portfolio.
- Reports to the Management Team on any major issues.
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Maintains appropriate communication (i.e. databases.)
- Develops strategies for continuous improvement of the products.
- Strives for product innovations/improvements.
- Supports R&D Projects including government funded projects, (i.e. IRAP.)
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 year University degree, with a specialization in Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years on the job experience with materials, product design, and/or process development (preferably with medical devices).
- Registration with APEGGA (P.Eng preferred).
- Knowledge of technical software, (i.e. AutoCAD, Adobe, etc.)
- Exposure to the patent process (international).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 and quality system regulations etc. would be an asset.
- Knowledge of technical standards (i.e. ASTM, ISO etc.) and the application of, an asset.
- Expertise in nonwoven fabrics and any related materials a definite asset.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and organizational skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in a Windows based environment, working Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication skills, written and oral.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret specialized material and technical manuals (i.e., MSDS, test reports, scientific literature, regulatory standards).
- Ability to write complex and specialized material such as test reports and procedures, technical reports and internal memos.

PDQ Technical Services Manager
Position Overview:
The Technical Services Manager oversees all technical aspects of priMED’s products including (preliminary) technical feasibility, material selection, design solutioning, and manufacturing/process development etc. This role involves managing certain quality systems (QS) of the company including raw materials, supplier, and contractor programs as well as interacting heavily with design control, validation and specification management. As part of this role the Technical Services Manager ensures these programs are functioning effectively with proper tracking, communication and documentation. In addition to these programs, the Technical Services Manager is involved in the company IP including patent protection and also responsible to ensure that the programs are in compliance with and meeting regulatory requirements of ISO13485/QSR etc.

- Manages the raw material program.
- Manages the supplier program.
- Manages the contractor program, i.e. external laboratories.
- Maintains up-to-date technical standards for priMED’s products.

- Reports to the management team on any major issues.

- Supports the rest of the QPD team as needed
